MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
Join WiLAI to connect, promote, and empower women leaders of legal AI, raising visibility and opportunity for all women.
WiLAI membership is focused specifically on C-suite level leaders involved in the creation of legal AI products, initiatives, and companies, as well as in the practice of law around AI issues, and decision-makers in the funding of corporate, law firm, and other for-profit legal AI endeavors. These experts comprise WiLAI's four focus areas of senior legal AI influencers:
Founders, Funders, Lawyers, and Leaders.
While not currently encompassed within WiLAI's immediate lens,* WiLAI also honors and admits women involved in involved in the implementation, deployment, administration, and governance of legal AI, as WiLAI Allied Members.
Allied Members include legal AI leaders in academia, advocacy, legal nonprofits, and government regulation. We robustly encourage interaction among the women in all these groups.*This distinction reflects our foremost concern about the marked gap in the inclusion and representation of women in influential, decision-making roles shaping the substance and funding of legal AI at a holistic level. For more information about the urgent need to eliminate gender bias in the shaping and funding of AI, and the consequences of ignoring that bias, please read our Gender Parity Facts & Figures here and in the Resources section of our Women in Legal AI news site (at WomenInLegalAI.com).

Here at WomeninLegalAI.org, we believe these disparities are unintentional.
Further, we posit that armed with these statistics along with an understanding of the causes and recommended solutions, law firms, VC firms, and law departments will enthusiastically commit to achieving greater gender parity in legal AI roles in leadership and all levels.
We believe that spotlighting the many achievements of women already in legal AI roles will create even more enthusiasm to increase their ranks.
