About Women in Legal AI
Women in Legal AI exists to drive change. To put women at the forefront of legal AI leadership: at the podium, in news coverage, in the boardrooms, on the lists . . . wherever there are leaders engaged in driving the direction and dialogue on legal AI.
To enable this change, our strategy is to develop and deliver the infrastructure to continually
identify, connect, amplify, and elevate all women involved in the field of legal AI. With this platform, we can increase awareness and representation of their abilities and achievements and encourage the involvement of more women.
We hope you will help us build the WiLAI community, sing their praises, engage with them, and play a role in creating more opportunities for all women in legal AI.
About Our Founder
Women in Legal AI was founded by a C-suite leader from AmLaw and boutique law firms who, over 30 years, saw firsthand the pervasive and persistent omission of women in primary roles of power and influence, particularly in the world of VCs, startups, and technology.
Witnessing this bias continuing unchanged over several decades, borne out by the latest disappointing data,* compelled our founder to search for the causes and find solutions for women to become equal members in these sectors. WiLAI soon became our founder's labor of love.
And now, with the meteoric development of the most critical technology for humanity, who shapes AI will be as important as how it is shaped, and the legal aspects of AI will ultimately be even more important than the technology itself. We must include the voice of women in the development of legal AI.*
With the help of dedicated volunteers, WiLAI has grown into the largest and most comprehensive platform to uncover, address, and change the illogical and often unconscious bias against women founders, women funders, and women lawyers and leaders in legal AI. Promoting these experts is a paramount component of WiLAI's strategy to bring about the needed change. WiLAI's Newsroom is one of our tools.
We hope you will join Women in Legal AI to find and connect with other women who are leading in legal AI, to celebrate their accomplishments, and to support and empower the journey of all women in legal AI.
*Please visit WiLAI's research links and synopses of recent data that addresses the realities and ramifications of excluding female voices from AI development.
